For me, teaching is about inspiring, nurturing, personal relationships, and expectations. Teaching assists in student discovery and growth. Having been a registered nurse for over 40 years, I am passionate to bring my knowledge and experience to my students. I enjoy uncovering the hidden treasures that are buried within my students. Knowing I am creating job opportunities for future medical assistants is both humbling and rewarding. I am grateful to The Community School for allowing me to share my rewarding career with others. The following quote speaks to who I am as an educator…
Grace Pinto M. Ed., BSN, RN
Medical Assistant Instructor
“As an instructor, I create an engaging and inclusive learning environment focused on deep understanding, critical thinking, and practical application. Over 12 years, I’ve received positive feedback for my approachable demeanor and ability to simplify complex concepts. I use diverse teaching methods, including book work, discussions, hands-on practice, and multimedia, to cater to different learning styles. My commitment to student success is evident in the timely support I provide outside class and my continuously updated course materials. I am passionate about imparting knowledge and inspiring a lifelong love for learning in my students.”
Stacy Holmes
Dental Assistant Instructor
“I take great pride in helping others succeed and being part of their journey. Passing on my knowledge to those striving to improve their lives and careers, particularly in obtaining their electrical license, is incredibly rewarding. I appreciate the extra pay and the comfort of not having to work in extreme weather conditions. Additionally, I no longer have to deal with the hassle of collecting unpaid invoices. Teaching allows me to stay current with electrical codes, laws, and regulations, meet new people, and continuously learn—whether from my students or through research prompted by their questions.”
