Program Overview and Training:
This 20-week hybrid program includes one online session and one in person lab training day each week, providing a structured yet flexible schedule for adult learners balancing other responsibilities.
Training is focused on the skills employers expect from entry level dental assistants, allowing students to move directly into a dental office role after completion. Students learn to assist chairside during dental procedures, take and process dental X rays, prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and support both patient care and daily office workflow. Instruction emphasizes accuracy, efficiency, and understanding the purpose behind each task so students can perform with confidence in a professional setting.
Hands On Training:
A key strength of the program is the hands-on clinical lab experience. Students train with modern dental equipment in a fully equipped lab, giving them the opportunity to practice the skills they will use on the job. Certification Preparation:
The program prepares students for nationally recognized credentials, including the DANB Infection Control Examination, Radiation Health and Safety Certification, and a pathway toward the Certified Dental Assistant credential. About The Instructor
Stacie Holmes brings more than 17 years of experience in the dental field and a strong passion for helping students build real skills they can use right away. She served for 14 and a half years in the United States Army, where she gained extensive experience in dental care, patient support, infection control, preventive practices, and public health. Stacie understands what it takes to work confidently in a dental setting, and she brings that real world perspective into her teaching. Her background in public health also helps students understand the important connection between oral health, patient education, and overall wellness.
As an instructor, Stacie is practical, supportive, and dedicated to helping students feel prepared for the workplace. She focuses on hands on learning, clear explanations, and building confidence step by step so students are ready to begin their careers in dental assisting.
