Medical Assistant Certificate Program
This course is designed to prepare students for employment as a Medical Assistant. This course will offer academic and clinical training in a variety of areas and prepares you to take the NHA's Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) examination. Medical Assistants are essential members of the health care team and work alongside physicians, mainly in outpatient or ambulatory care facilities, such as medical offices and clinics. The course offers academic and clinical training in human anatomy, physiology and pathology; medical terminology; laboratory techniques (including phlebotomy); clinical and diagnostic procedures; pharmacology; medication administration; first aid; office practices; patient relations; and medical law and ethics. The cost of the examination (approx $130) is the student's responsibility and not included in tuition cost. Attendance is also required at all classes and plays a significant role in the successful completion of this course.

About the Instructor
Grace is an experienced teacher with extensive nursing experience. She provides an educational environment where stduents are encouraged and and ready to become medical professionals at the completion of the program. She believes in creating a learning environment where growth is encouraged.She is a graduate of Cape Cod Community College, earning her associate degree in Nursing. Grace furthered her education by completing her bachelor of science degree in Nursing from Curry College and then went on to achieve a masters degree in Education from Cambridge College. In her leisure time, Grace is passionate about summertime and lazy days spent at the beach, attending car shows with her 2011 Dodge Challenger, and enjoying the antics of her cats.
